So I went to a small electronics supply store in San Mateo so I could actually look at the switch in person.
This brand Carling and type looks like it will work:

There are two types a solder lug and a screw terminal. They will need some adaptation as there is no spade lug version for this brand and type.
I got the screw terminal as that is what he had on hand.
You can get them on Amazon for quite a bit less than what I paid for them.
Looks like it is used in Fender products as well.

I'm looking for some as well. I have a few heaters that need the switch too. I do recall being able to buy the black plastic knob
on the front, but cant remember where I saw it now!!!!! Glad you liked the job. Thanks for the work!!

That is what I am after. I am sure someone makes something that would look the same, but if you go to Digikey or some other vendor it is hard to find what you want because there are probably thousands.
Out of the 22,000 at Digikey this one is close in looks:
Just not sure on the size and the connectors are not spades, but I can work around that.

Terry, the original has a chrome toggle.

Now that I have a nicely refurbished Macmanron heater I need a replacement switch.
If I remember correctly it is a low profile style with connections off the side instead of the back.
There must be a substitute somewhere. The one I have has a plastic lever and the contacts were bent to make it work.
