Norm, I didn't ever find one that had the right recess when I had my Quickshifter. Like I said, though, a cheaper option may be to have a good upholstery shop wrap the stock KAD knob in a nice leather with unique stitching. I was going that route, but ended up changing shifters conpletely.

there are two different types of "KAD" lever: the simple one, which uses the same knob as the stock mini, and the other one which has a reverse lockout ring which I've not found another knob to fit.

The British use a baby's cotton sock to keep the freezing cold aluminum knob from freezing your hand on cold mornings.

I have often thought about buying a wooden knob and then try to figure out how to bore out the necessary clearance for the reverse lock out ring, but that's hard to do with a finished knob without scuffing up the show surface, so I haven't tried it yet.

anyone know of a wood or leather knob with the necessary clearance?

Norm

I was more upset that the stupic KAD sticker came off of my rod change quick shifter.  Still looking for a good adhesive to replace it if I can only find the sticker!

Old wool sock makes a good cover.

My KAD shifter had a removable knob. Can't remember what the thread size or pitch was, but it was a standard option. The only issue is that the reverse lockout collar recesses up into the base of the shift knob when engaged. You'll need to find a shift knob that still allows full motion of the reverse lockout sleeve. I personally thought that looked unfinished.

An interesting option may be to have the original knob covered by an upholstery shop.

I can't remember how I installed my KAD shifter years ago so I'm not sure if the shift knob comes off, but I would really like to go to a leather shift knob. Here in Missouri the aluminum shift knob eithers freezes or burns the skin off your hand. Ha! Thanks everyone for your help - always.
