Spitz.

The change on the stop lights on the pickup were caused by the same reason the Mini went to the Mk.II lights. To meet with traffic standards, specially for export markets.

The minimum area of a stop light and a turn signals are specified in the traffic code of each country.  Mk.I lights were to small to meet new law standards at the time in many european countries, one of those countries with stringent laws was Germany.

BMC could not sell the Hydroelastic Minis in Germany because the tilting of the body changed the headlight alignement considerably, thus not meeting german laws.

I would be really interested in getting one of these pickup models to add to my collection. I have made a few over the years (VW, Citroen...) for several companies, and have been thinking about a Mini pick up conversion for awhile. SO, your timing is perfect!

The Tamiya kits are partly the reason why I got interested in 'real' Minis and European classic cars in general. I have built a few myself over the years and somebody even made a Mini Van once. The green van pics are from a this forum //www.scaleplasticcars.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18633&hilit=minivan (but you need to be a member to view the whole process),

cheers,

Abel

They probably just ran out of the left over Rover P4 ones.

Spitz, those are the lights I did first so maybe I wont waist time on the other ones.

Its already bad enough that I have a little over $300 in the mold so I dont need to be adding to it.

Now so everyone knows.....this is a conversion kit and will require a tamiya mini kit to finish it. No modifications needed except for the side glass will have to be cut down, removing the door glass from the quarter glass. The rest of the kit glues right to this conversion. I spent a few years on this conversion to make it go together as easly as possible. Got tired of spending $60 myself for resin kits that never fit together.

I will try to have the two different tail light options with it as well as the two rear bumpers.

After I finish up this one I will be recasting my Mini clubman body.

Yes they will be for sale. I will have them on ebay an if its ok with our host I will have them here or on the cars for sale section. I just need to finish up the master for the tail gate an rear bumper.

The white body an tan body are the same just poured in different resins. The picture is just making them look different. These scale out to be 11" long like the real truck.

Are you planning to produce the bodies for sale?

Please post more information and I'll spread the word in the Mini Model community.

Any model kit builders on this forum?

This is a resin conversion that I made the master for and started casting last week. It uses the Tamiya model kit to complete it. I will be posting more pictures soon if anyone is interested in them.
