thank you dan,,, that was the reason why i always adjust timing almost every week, no wonder the advances got stock., you were also the one who told me to invest on a timing gun, and i did , i bought a brand new decent t.gun for $40sh , just the timing no dwell meter thing, simple but its a big help... spring is comming, i gotta fine tune this little puppy.

Good to know you found and fixed the screw. It may have been hindering the mechanical advance too. So with that working, your timing may be way off, possibly too advanced which could ruin your engine.

Once you get it all back together, you need to set the timing correctly. Don't forget to disconnect the vacuum advance, plugging or capping the vacuum line or carb port while setting the timing. When you get the timing and idle speed set, reconnect the vacuum advance.

With the timing set, take it for a short drive to see how it performs. You may need to fine-tune idle and mixture.

i took it apart, clean it, oil it a bit .. its nice to get familiar with the anatomy of a distributor.

ahhh problem solved!! im expecting a 10 hP increase in the performance.(at least)

Too long of a screw is a common problem. I found some phillips head ones that work well (much better than the slotted ones).

10Hp increase ???? Doubtful as the vacuum advance is only and economy device and NO not all distributors come with them.

HA. the OP (you are the OP in case you forgot) already derailed this thread. You are the one who derailed it in the first place. And you are the one that keeps bringing up the male anatomy. I was just giving you an opportunity to confess to the world just why you're so interested in the size of my d!ck. You can send me a private message if you arent ready to tell the whole world yet.

For being openly homophobic you sure seem fixated on the size of my penis. Do you need to "come out" and tell us something Robbie?

I guess I'll address this. If you put oil in the cylinder and it done got more suckshin... then your pistons are NOT tight. Actually if you can notice the difference in vacuum with your finely calibrated finger, then your compression is totally FUBAR.

But you should probably buy a new distributor.......
