I have a spare but it's a later MK II Cooper S. has a welded in repair panel on it, but solid, sandblasted and etch primed. I probably have hinges. If anyone needs it let me know. i put the older style on the Cooper S because.. well.. i like them better

Mr. Grean didn't include hinges with a couple of rear doors I bought off him.nor did he mention one had a repair on it!

Anyone know 69Mk2CooperS ID or email?

Thanks

I just bought a pristine boot lid from Rudy,Mr Grean in Brampton,Ont, it must be a MK I've or so as it has Jap logos etc(1993-1998)?

I paid him $250.00 CDN , it came with the hinges and he stripped the back up fog lite and handle, no big deal, l have those parts in stock

I figured that l paid top dollar but then l got looking at brand new ones, like $600.00 dollars for a new steel one, Bummer!

Hey guys.  Still looking for a MK II double skin boot lid if anyone knows where I can get one.  Same as later MK 1's.  Looks like this on the inside

The fiberglass insert to make one appear like a double skinned one is available in the UK for £25 gbp or a new correct boot lid is £88 gbp on ebay.co.uk.

Yeah, I thought about that.  I will likely do that in combination with my option 1 (leave the MK1 bootlid as is) if I go that route.  I'll cover the webbing with the trim piece.

It's the last unoriginal part of the car that I don't have a good solution for yet.

If you don't need total originality you could just use the black (similar to door panel) boot lid cover that came on some Mini's and attaches with some chrome self tappers

If you are interested in parting with it let me know, I definitely need one.  Right now I am looking at 3 options:

1.  Use a MK1 boot lid as is (I have one in good shape)

2.  Strip out the webbing from the MK1 and replace with a fibreglass inner skin insert

3.  Use the fibreglass inner skin insert to fabricate a new inner skin out of metal

Ok thanks for checking.  I found out the one I have and was describing in my last post is a MK I Cooper S bootlid.  I didn't realize that the webbing is a feature of the earlier single skin bootlids.  The holes for mounting the Cooper S badge was also an indicator.  I think the MK II double skin boot lid is considerably more rare.

You are correct all UK MK II Mini's had the double skin bootlid.

Mine is actually a Canadian import (left hand drive, has a bunch of dealership add-ons I am removing to put it back to the way I figure it would have left the factory).  I have been struggling to find information on old minis imported into Canada and what changes would have been made for the market.

The MK III bootlid has the webbing and license plate light is over the plate.  I have one of those bootlids in the parts pile.  I also have a bootlid that has the MK II outerskin (light under plate) and webbing identical to the MK III inner skin.  Would love to know what mini this came from.  I have seen these sold as MK II lids on various mini parts online stores as heritage parts.  I wonder if this is a modern replacement for MK II double skin lids.
