It is an 11-stud block.

Don't forget that 1300GTs and 1275GTs are completely different beasts.
The 1275 GT has a solid block but the 1300GT has tappet chests, using an S block.

To me this looks like a MkI/II Cooper 'S' block, a MkIII Cooper 'S' crankshaft and Cooper 'S' rods. The gearbox is 4 syncro likely from an Elf/Hornet. Almost everything else is from an Austin America. The price seems about right.

I got a call from someone who claims to want the engine but is in Mexico City. Asked a lot of good questions and then asked for my email address so he could talk to his mechanic and ask more questions. I gave it to him but worried after that it was a scam. Good news is that the email address can only be used from my house. So I hope he can't abuse it. Scammers, we should just shoot them.

Well I have them scatter over a piece of plastic on the garage floor waiting to see if someone wants more pictures or measurements. I already have received some good questions that I forgot to put in the ad. The head has not been decked. still at standard 2.75. The pistons are slightly out of round and look original, I would not use them in a rebuild.

maybe easier to pack up in pieces, but also may lose something in a cross country move.

1.625 rods 2.009 mains

Sorry, forgot to answer your other quesiton. Yes the engine is apart right now. I wanted to get pictures and make sure I was selling something that had good parts. I can put it back together for someone if they want it that way. I am retired, need something to do since I finished the last two cars.

Decent price for a 1275.

It's odd though..... AA head and AA crank...tappet covers.... 1300GT engine?

Just placed an ad for my extra Cooper engine. //www.minimania.com/cars4sale/12719/Cooper_S_Engine_____Probably_late_60s_Mini

I have taken it apart and have pictures of all the parts so you know what you are buying. If you need any measurements, let me know.
