Many toolrooms have a spark eroder machine, they can demolish the broken `ezy out' or tap without hurting the thread.

This isn't going to help, but there was a machine in the aerospace company I used to work for the was called a "Blast-O-Bolt", or something like that.  It was a very large carbon arc device that would literally burn and blast out the molten bolt from the parent part without damaging the threads.  I never got to see it in operation, but it was supposed to really light up the room from what I was told!

You could try to weld a bolt to what's left and use a hex wrench to grab the bolt. Not sure if hardened steel will weld.

Also, you could try to cut slot in the broken ez out. Use a regular screwdriver and try to back it out.

What is it stuck in? Maybe some other ideas. Got a pic?

BTDT :(

I went to a local company who had some sort of plasma cutter device.  This removed the remains of the bolt and embedded Ezi-Out leaving the involved thread (in my brand new Manx Racing head) untouched.

Was pretty cheap as well.

My son broke off a screw extractor attempting to remove a 6mm bolt that had broken off as well.  Any ideas on how to remove the hardened steel screw extractor?
