The only problem with that is you have to dress like a WalMart customer to pick up the money..

You can transfer money cheaply from Walmart to Walmart similar to Western Union but cheaper, painless and you have cash right away with no chance of it going back to the buyer for any stupid reasons.

THanks for the offer, but I am going to let him do the import part. He only asked me to get it to Laredo. by the way, I got some bids on shipping and $200-240 from 4 different shippers. Now I have to put the engine back together and put it on a pallet. Jerry

Just completed a $ bank transfer to England for some Mini accessories. The cost of the parts came to about 80 GBP..with exchange costs and the $30 charge for the bank to do the transfer, I was out almost $200 Cdn by the time they got here. Parts excellent, supplier very nice..the cost of doing business from England :(

Thanks group, I had some behind the scenes messages about wire transfers and our bank says they know how to do it. I am not looking into freight companies, I only have to ship to Laredo, TX (from Sacramento). His company will pick it up from there. That means I don't have to deal with border issues either. Interesting guy, owns two mini, knows a little about them but has a mechanic that does the work on them.

I've bought and sold 2 engines using paypal...clears your account within a day or 2.  If you use the family and friends link, there's no charge through paypal On either end.

Simple - he pays for the engine and also arranges collection.

I recently did the same with Spitz with some rather splendid alloys, I paid for the shipping from my end after paying him for the wheels.

What is the issue exactly?

Receive payment, make sure it clears and is in your account, send shipment.

Don't do like I did and send parts, then the person doesn't pay for it...which is stealing.

Not to dis your buyer, but (recalling car 'purchase' scams of years ago) make sure the payment clears your bank.

Group, I have been contacted many times by a guy in Mexico City that wants to buy my engine, twin carbs, etc. He wants it shipped to Laredo Tx and is willing to pay for everything prior to shipment. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
