The better part of my working life I have been surrounded by folks in media and entertainment. A lot of them have a realy "Positive impression of self"  I won't call it arogance, because it's different than that. These  one's have trrue tallent, they know it, but ot's not a bragging point, it's fact.  then there are the semi tallented with attitude...I recall being at a party with one who quite litterally said "enough about that, lets talk about me..."  These guys don't last, they end up leaving the business to sell things for people (not that there's anything wrong with that.. it's a real skill too).

I don't know Jezza, but I suspect he's more the confident and bigger than life type than arrogant worm. He couldn't have lasted so long if he wasn't.

This is hands down my most favorite vid of Jeremy as he's doing his spot on the 'Peel P50 Trident'. If you've never watched this one before, you are definitely in for a treat! Like Jeremy says, driving a 'Peel P50' is cheaper than walking!!! Again, I love this vid. It's one of the most interesting vids ever done on a micro-car. Enjoy!   Mini Estate

P.S. Instead of the topic being 'Jeremy Clarkson suspended', it should read, 'Jeremy Clarkson catapulted into Stardom!' When you're making headlines and everybody's talking about you, shootz! He'll probably get more offers to host than he can keep up with now!

Clarkson's abrasiveness and offensiveness are his trademark. he's offended me, and I still love the show. The BBC is probably using this to their own benefit.  Take a realistic look at his past transgressions.  Comments he has made that were deemed offensive, were cut from the program (then mysteriously appeared on social media) That's no accident. Sure. he's a complete arse, but we love him anyway because apart from that, he is funny, knows hos stuff, and plays the part well.  If they pulled a program everytime a famous person got caught doing something stupid we would have no TV at all

I suspect one of 2 things: 1) the BBC is using this to boost ratings when they deem it apropriate to put their already best show back on the air, or.. they are going to try to pull a fast one on his contract re-negotiation.. which is this comming month I think. Eiter way they are being utterly dough headed.

Having had incredibly talented media people work for me in the past....I know the dilemma the BBC is facing. Fire their biggest breadwinner or just suck it up and try damage control? Similar to the CBC sex scandals with Gian.

It seems the bigger the talent, the bigger the sense of entitlement and invincibility they have. The most talented broadcaster I ever had work for me was a POS when he wasn't on air. He arrived late drunk & hung over, lied and stole from just about everybody, harassed female staff, had some nasty personal habits, disobeyed the rules everybody else followed, told his employers what he was prepaired to do and not what they asked him. He finally ran out of options when we found someone as good, without the attitude to go with it.

It has been "insinuated" on ITV, which is Auntie Beebs competition, that Clarkson and the Producer, came to blows. BBC are being very guarded about any comments.

//www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/statements/jeremy-clarkson-top-gear didn't everybody see this coming (especially after the Patagonia special SNAFU)?

I particularly enjoy the show, especially the challenges, despite all of them being scripted. However, I find some of Jeremy Clarkson's comments, jokes and remmarks 'slightly' over the top (even for a Spaniard's sense of humour),

cheers,

Abel
