Exactly the reason the North American Classic Mini Brigade was founded...a Classic Mini appropriately serviced can be very reliable and easily serviced if need be.

We drove a combined 44,000 kilometres around Australia with another couple - 4 new tires, one outer CV and wheel bearing set in addition to regular oil/filter changes and a very few minor glitches.

And then a combined 30,000 kilometers with 4 Classic Minis, two pulling trailers, from Queensland and around Tasmania return - one new water pump, 2 or 3 minor electrical issues & issues with one carb. My Q&H joints were shot on getting back from Tassie.
