The green was actually a Volkswagen green, not a BMC color. I don't remember much else about the car, as I was a youngster. I CAN remember being fascinated by the highway patrolman's utility belt, looking out the window as he wrote my dad a ticket. Several times....

Yes, I remember Michael and the Countryman as well.  It was one of the best Mini wagons I have ever seen.  The colour combo with the white roof and beige interior (TR6 seats) was just perfect.  Shame the club just fell apart because we had a great bunch of Miniacs in it.  I'd be up to getting together and re-forming the MOS.

The Countryman also had a 1275 S engine and disk brakes. It got him in trouble a lot....

Minilites were available in the '60s.

Cracker, maybe Leon's move to Atlanta will help get the club back together.

That car was my childhood.  I was two when that picture was taken and the car was probably just done. That's the best picture I've seen of it in a long while. Thanks!

Somewhere in all my stuff I have the Mini Owners South banner, if the club gets resurrected, or if we just want to display it at a get together.

LIMini,

This should be a couple of photos of your dad's Countryman at the 1982 MME in Greenville, SC. This was my first Mini Meet East. His Mini was perfect. Like Hugh, I miss the MOS days but we had good folks who kept things going, Art, Les, and even Bobby. Great memories. Mark

Mark, Leon (from S.Africa) is following the thread. He's excited about connecting with new Mini Owners. (He was active in MOCSA in the Jo'burg area.) My understanding is that he will be in Atlanta around June 1st. I don't know when his cars will start arriving.

Dr. Mini, my dad was also an early member of Mini Owners South. Michael Bokros, if you remember. He had matching green w/white roof Austin Cooper 998 and Countryman Woody. I spent many a time at Art and Betty McKenzie's house outside Atlanta. Don't know what became of Art Sr, but I know Art Jr. is still a bit in the loop.

Dad sold his last mini in 87 and we didn't see those guys anymore. Cleaning out the attic recently, we found a whole bunch of trophies from MOS Car Shows past!

Chuck I am living in the Atlanta area again. There is a network of owners here. Bruce was collecting email addresses at the annual BCD. Anybody would be glad to welcome him to town. Good excuse to get together again. Mark Caldwell

No offical mini club in Atlanta. We all sorta know each other but that's about it. In the past we have been spead all over and around town so that made it difficult. Do you know what part of town he is moving to?

I have a friend from South Africa who will be moving to Atlanta in June. He's very knowledgable about the South African cars and has a good, small collection of cars that I believe he is bringing with him. He would like to make connections with other owners or clubs in the area. Any suggestions I can pass on to him?
