Ah.... QuickSilver... makes me wish I was along for the ride. Now I have a craving for Chinese food too!

Good times......

I also HATE the attention the mini draws, the smiles are one thing but the rest is downright annoying..i like being unseen lol therefore u drive mainly nights

I had my Aussie 1275 Moke up to a gps verified 80mph @4k (i am sure without a windscreen it would have gone faster), remember the UK Mokes only weigh around 1200lb. There is one that Minitec built with a D series Honda engine and 5 speed in it, they also built a B series one too. A guy on this board (Tarzwell maybe) used to race one and hit speeds well over 100mph, 130 i heard and AFAIK that was A series power.

All that aside they work best on B roads hitting around 55 60mph, beyond that it gets very breezy and the buffeting gets on your nerves.

It's probbaly personal feelings but I used mine as daily driver in Los Angeles and Dallas for years without any issues with drivability. I had a stock MG Metro with aluminium flywheels and a stage 1 kit on it. Did many freeway trips with no issues including a North Dallas to Austin trip for a British car meet.

I never had any desires to get more power out of it but I did use a lowered windshield on it.

As Chuck H says "if i sold every Mini i owned and kept one it would be the Moke".

Its a Moke thing unless you have owned one you would not understand.

That pretty much sums it up.

we're totally opposite,i like the attention i'm getting from my mini.it's very fulfilling, especially when carwash girls waves at me and i honk back at them and they smile at me and giggle. i feel my hormones rushing in blood stream.

the moke is fine, but it's too exposed, one thing you should remember, if you own a moke never never wear a fake mustache...go figure!

overall, moke is ok.

but,

totally agree, can't agree more.!! in the picture, the moke has seats for 4-6people and the guy is claiming that it's only an 800cc car, and even call it as "painfully underpowered" (ouch!). how can you carry 4-6 people if the car is so under powered??

but don't get me wrong, i will be happy to have one(if it's given to me for free)

no cars can EVER beat the cute-ness of the classic mini.,, the clubman tried to compete with the mini BUT with it's front face which looks like a dorky Ford Cortina, nah!! nice try but nope, can't get close to mini's popularity.

One can't be a REAL Mini enthusiast unless one has spent time with a Moke.

Start with a Mini saloon. Take everthing away that is not necessary and you end up with a Moke.

I'm sure #8 is reserved for classic MINIs (roofed ones...lol)....   .....either way, I'm sure it'll get your ass kicked in most of the upper 13.

So...did yor neighbour know you had one, did you know he had an interest and was looking?
