I'm partial to 12" wheels and the Yoko A539 165/60/12 tires. If you wanted a lower profile tire, the Yoko A048 is 165/55/12.
Might be an option...

Thanks guys. I love the look more than anything. and I have ridden in one on 13's
I really noticed no difference to speak of. Lower profile on the tire, mainly.

I've got 13's. It's a tradeoff. I'd go back to 10's, but I'm not giving up my 9 inch disc brakes.
If you are already running discs with 10's, why change? Keep the 10's.

There are many many opinions on 13's. A lot of people say that the ride is terrible, but a bad suspension is to blame for most of that. My car had 13's when I bought it, and when I went with wider wheels, I had a little bit of rubbing, but that was because I had lowered my suspension substantially. It is entirely possible that your suspension and setup will allow you to run a 13x7 with minimal changes. You'll probably have to make minor clearance changes for hard turns. All of the changes fit under standard wheel arches and aren't noticeable.
I've driven a car with 10's, 12's, and 13's. And I've owned all of the common sizes of 12's and 13's with various sets of tires. I'm not a purist, so I don't bow down to the almighty 10". I enjoy 10" wheels.. I'll probably be running a set just to complete the look of the car I'm going for. But I would go back to my 13's in a heartbeat as well. Loved the ride, loved the highway cruising, and loved the minimal sidewall give they provided. I had a lot more confidence entering a corner hard than I ever did with my 12's.
Bottom line? Yeah, they'll fit. You may have to massage them a bit for hard turn clearance, but if they are the look you want, then go for it and don't let someone push you away from them.

Have you ridden in a 13" wheel'd Mini before? Huge difference (in my opinion anyway) in ride quality between 10" and 13" wheels. I'd take a spin in one if you haven't - don't be so quick to ditch the 10s. ...or at least keep 'em on the side, so after your teeth have chattered out you can put em back on.

Yes you can, you may have front fender clearance issues depending on the condition of your suspension, Sportpacks with 13s had modifications to the rack and front edges of the fenders to prevent rubbing.
And now you'll get everyones opinion of why you shouldn't.

I want to put a set of 13's on my 69 truck. Its all original but its got the disc front brake upgrade.
Can I come off the factory 10's and go to an Ultralight 13" 7JJ if i use a lower profile tire? a 175-50 R13.
