My name is Sarah, I am 26 years old and I live in Boise, Idaho.  I am an intern working on becoming an architect.

I have been crazy about classic coopers since I saw my first one when I was about 14. I finally found and purchased my first mini about four months ago, it is a 1985 Austin Mini. Since I have purchased the cooper a needle bearing went out on the laygear, first gear end. The previous owner was only running 10-30 oil, I wondered if that contributed to the decay of that bearing. None the less, we went through the whole engine bay & transmission and refreshed parts as needed. Just got it on all fours again last night, and it is running great! Been a great adventure!

Hi Sarah... welcome to the best mini website in the face of earth. You'll learn a lot from this forum.

enjoy your stay!

Guys pls say hello to the Sarah, never never ignore a lady member.. , sometimes if we dont respond right away, it means we are in the garage  fixing our minis or busy washing the floor because of the oil drippings from our minis.

hi dmulder, do you live in Hilly terrain? how's your mini going uphill? does it have enough power?, the reason i asked is because i also have a 998 motor, and it's quite crawling slow uphill.

Stu. Cornwall. For your information, Cornwall isn't a part of England, it's attached to the bottom bit of England and is full of weird people who eat these things called pasties, a lot of the original ones were "Celtic" which means they weren't Anglo Saxons, they came from Spain/Galicia and are a bit like pirates. For those of you who are americans, I suppose the stereotypical texan is like your equivalent of a Cornishman. Instead of Yeeehawww we have something called "Geeeeedon". It's a general purpose word which can be used in a variety of situations. "My daughter has given birth and I'm so happy" "Geeeedon". "My subaru impretza has 900hp" "Geeedon", "Alright" "Geeedon" etc. Anyway, I'm from Cornwall, I had a beard before they were fashionable, I eat a lot of pasties (which are like hand-pies) and I say "gedon" a lot.

In about 2002, my then girlfriend bought a mini. I borrowed it,  bought  a 64 the next weekend. Stuck a metrol engine in it, sold it on the internet when I found out it was rotten. Bought a 66 Rally car (cooper bits in a SDL shell) still have it.

If you have non-coal mines in your area, chances are, cornishmen came to mine in your area after the copper crash in about 1870. My job is telling financiers whether a property is fit for lending (ie:- has no hole under it). Interesting subject which I know lots about. If you've got a problematic mine opening, or subsidence, I am well and truly your man.

Red one sold years ago. Blue one "tuned" a bit.

Also a Richard, Louisville, KY 40223 ...

My title is "Senior Specialist - Marketing Analytics" which is a fancy way of saying I'm an old, 64, computer guy who understands statistics.

I got into this obsession from the dark side when I bought a used BINI, drove it for a year, traded for a new BINI and then bought a Mini. The new Bini went into serious maintenance mode in 3 years and I traded it for something else, but I still have my Mini (four years now). I can wrench on this little monster myself, having refreshed the suspension and replaced the head.

Mister Cinders, in Chicago (60640).

I wanted a real Mini ever since I saw them in London, where I lived in 89/90.  Bought my '62 Cooper about 2 years ago.

My name is Richard (alias Ricardo to my friends). Only 70 yrs old. I live about 70% in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and 30% in Tarija, Bolivia. Only 700 km apart through the mountains on dirt roads.

I am an oil importer/distributor and spend my days teaching people about lubrication and maintenance: How to use lubrication and filtering technology to reduce down time and improve profits.

Working on getting my pickup finished and on the road.
