Dave Hay, Campbell River, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. V9W 8B4. I'm 67 and claiming ALL my pensions dammit!!!!.  First Mini brand new in 1973...white with tan interior, owned an early 1970's...blue with blue interior, 2 identical 1979 Jade greeen with tan interiors (one in Newfoundland and the other here in BC)....and our current Mini Tartan. My picture tells you what I did till I "retired", now running Young Drivers of Canada car driving school and my own motorcycle driving school (Bison Motorcycle Safety Consultants) and acting as expert witness for the occasional trial or two.

If it's not Scottish....it's crap! (Cry of the Mini Tartan Owners' Clan)

I'm Mark, age 59, living in New York's Hudson Highlands for the past thirty-eight years. First Mini is a Mk1 van purchased in 1975 in Milton-Under-Wychwood, OXON, UK (see profile pic). Second Mini was a Mk1 Cooper 997 that I used (up) as my daily commuter from Milton to RAF Greenham Common, Newbury. Scary brake issues led to that Cooper's demise. Have owned countless Spridgets. Sadly, sold a nice '59 Frogeye for far less than its worth several years ago. It was the car or shelter, tbh... Currently, I still have the van along with a few MGBs, including an early pull-handle Mk1, undergoing what has turned into a multi-decade restoration.

'66 Austin Van; 1275 .040 over;  EN40B crossdrilled crank; Cam Techniques F-270-8 cam; MED modified alloy 7 port; 1.5:1 MED roller rockers; 40 DCOE carbs; rod change box; alloy 4-pot calipers...

Craig Dewey, 58 currently (You know it never seems to stay the same!). I am a retired manfacturing engineer from the aerospace/defence industry that started out as a Third Assistant Engineer, Steam or Motor Vessels, any horsepower (Unlimited USCG License). When I was a kid I saw an early Cooper S sitting on the side of the road with a For Sale sign in the window and copious amounts of rust in the wings and rockers. I really wanted it, but I was 17 at the time and my '57 MGA took every cent I had to keep it running. One of the local wreaking yards also had a bunch of Mini shells on top of a rack that I could see from the road and I wanted them too. Ho-Hum.

Bought my first Mini in 1996, it was a '61 850 in pieces. Next I bought the Green Monster from Dr. Dave a couple of years later. It was painted with automotive type paint using a house paint roller and had two white Cobra stripes that were white house paint! Every time I washed that car the Cobra stripes got thinner. It was very fast and I miss it in all its rusty glory. I now have a mostly dark blue with purple pearl '72 Mini 1000 from New Zealand that I've done a BMW K-head twin cam conversion on that goes like stink.

Oh, and I live in Campbell, California. That's at the southern end of the San Francisco Bay Area.

jtaylor3!!  When I was 17 (i'm 39 now) I flew that Cub down to Lock haven solo... it was a fantastic trip!  Folks in PA are great!  One day I'd like to retrace the flight, perhaps with one of my kids.  The Sentimental Journey Fly-in is one of those great events to get to.... maybe next year...  (I got a mini to fix first!)

Leased my first MINI in 2007, then bought an MCS in 2009.  Moved to the UK for about 2 years and got the classic Mini bug!  Bought my  '73 Innocenti in May of 2014.  Learning lots ever since.

i'm bob, been a fan of minis since i was around 21, bought my first and only mini, a 65 cooper"s", when i was

mid 20s. still have it . i'm in the middle of restoring it as it has been garaged for the last 30 years or so. i've semi retired

and moved to florida from CT. i'm relearning everything about this car that i have forgotten.hopefully one day i will get

to experience turning that key and driving the hell out of it , like i used to. i'm turnin 60 in a few months and maybe it

will happen someday soon. but it's great being back into it again.
