He sold the Mini to a guy in South Florida Michael. He bought a Qvale Mangusta to replace it before he got sick.
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
Give a car more power and it goes faster on the straights,
make a car lighter and it's faster everywhere. Colin Chapman.

NJ went through several configurations with his Mini, I think he went from a hot A-series to a B16, then a B-18, then the AWD setup, and sold it when he decided there wasn't much else he could do to it. He told me that the AWD cured the torque steer and really made it a drivable beast. I'm not sure who bought it. If you want to go VTEC with a turbo, the smaller D-Series might be the way to go. Look for JerseyMini's posts here or on the 16vminiclub.com forum. He's been working on a turbo'd D-Series.

Why not go for the ultimate, AWD with a Hayabusa engine! That would be the ultimate. BTW, seems we have the same taste in cars.

The community member that had it - NJ - passed away a little over a year ago? I have not heard what became of his AWD Mini.

Ok, my next project will be a classic mini with a turbo powerplant. I am leaning on doing the AWD system, but I have NOT decided on a powerplant as of yet. I really love to be different, so my engine of choice right now, will throw some of you for a loop... but I really dont care.
I do, however, have a few questions...
I have read on this forum, that some of the Vtec conversions have awful torque steer? Is that correct? I am assuming that the AWD build will eliminate that.
I have access to NC machines, lathes, etc... and can use them. So, I will have the ability to fab up just about anything.
Is there anyone on here that has an AWD kit on thier classic? Is there anyone on here with a turbo classic that can lend some advice?
I do not have a classic mini as of yet, but can find one when the time is right. I want to do my research now, so I know what direction I will be going in.... (this is part of the fun of the build as well)
