I just got the note from the Post office saying that Danish Customs has Terry's AldonY and is holding it for ransom.  So, once it's released, I'll install it, do a quick tune and try to gorrila-pod the camera to the car for a short video.  Hopefully, it'll give better audio than my wine, cigar and symphonic description.

(Holy crap - I just opened the envelope - import tax = DKK 98.- and the administration fee DKK 160.-  Edit:  add an extra DKK 32.- for Visa transaction (Highway Robbery!))

Good review.

Problem with exhaust systems is unless you have a friend with this exhaust, you don't know how they'll look mounted or the sound of the exhaust note.

I'd think about a purchase after that review, thanks.

Yes we have Saturday deliveries - wow, that's fast!!!  If not Saturday, then it looks like I'll get it Monday, unless Customs grab it, then I'll get a letter in the mail with instructions for me to login to Post Danmark's website and declare that I want the item, tell them who sent it etc...  Yes, I'll have to prove that I want my mail...  It was a problem when I ordered the driving and spot lamps; ordered them on Amazon and didn't know where the original sender was actually from.

Please E-mail your address to me, just in case I need to document where it came from.  I'll also eventually need it so that I can send you a birthday card -

Thanks again - wow, already here...  Super!

Ok, it's time for a brief follow-up and review - the Maniflow 1.75" Twin-box Big-box Center Exit system (CLST001A).  Very easy to install; Maniflow bevels the ends of the pipes to ensure that they fit easily.

The word is mellow.  Fully-rounded, deep and mellow.  I haven't had a chance to take it on the highway yet, I'll wait until Terry's Aldon Dizzy arrives for that one, but the drive home from my buddy's garage was pleasant.  It's not super quiet, but the note is deeper and less tinny/raspy than the RC40.  At low-speed cruising, it's just humming along; give it some beans and the (playfully articulate) trombone and baritone horns come out.  Cruise a bit faster and the note mellows out, deep and full-bodied.

I believe that this should be part of the MiniMania inventory - it's a great system for anyone who wants a performance exhaust that you can actually live with.

It reminds me of the difference between an inexpensive supermarket cigar and a Arturo Fuentes Hemmingway Maduro Perfecto.  I give it 2 thumbs up.

So, you're a Thespian....do you know Bruce....sorry Caitlyn.....or did you decide to NOT "re-vin"????

Not "intimately".

Although I can appreciate theater, I enjoyed being behind the scene on lighting/stage crew.

Absolutely hilarious, SxS.

I'll have to keep an eye on mine. I just ordered a maniflow Big Bore LCB. Any pics of where it split? Would additional weld have kept it from cracking?

Todd, thanks for the heads-up.  I'll be checking the welded joints on the Freeflow manifold when I install the pipes.  I had it on the lift at my buddy's garage last week, but didn't notice anything untoward.  Of course, the sump guard was still installed, so visibility was somewhat limited.  I'll remove the guard prior to installation and get a better look.  When I had the LCB installed, 1st generation Maniflow, there weren't any problems with it other than that it was a bugger to disassemble after it'd been on the car for a couple of years.  That said, though, I've got it stored in the garage and my plan is to buy a new 'Y' piece for it - there's nothing wrong with the manifold as is, but the Y-piece did suffer a bit when I removed it.

Geez, Jonathan, I haven't read that in years.  Maybe Hyacinth would prefer being referred to as Estella after all.  Something to think about...

Ok, enough thinking 'bout that, it'll remain Hyacinth.  She's asleep on the sofa, mouth hanging open and snoring (no, not really...)...  Hardly seductive...

Apologies for the negative note but my Maniflow LCB split nicely at the Y after 1 year.  Everything back from the collector has been great including the megaphone, but the S-bend in the collector is inadequately bent to properly align the downpipe with the tunnel.  So it contacts the tunnel unless you tweak this or that up in the header - only causing it to contact somewhere else.  For me this was the Hardy-Spicer.

Please give us a review, after install, about ease of install and how it sounds and if your pleased with your purchase.

I had a muffler (maniflow) on my F-350 (V10) and was pleased. Didn't know they made a system to be honest, I planned on a SS RC40. QuickSilver also makes a system, never heard a review though.

jeg, is your Maniflow system mild steel or stainless steel ?

Thanks, SxS

My shiny new green Maniflow exhaust arrived today!  I'm very pleased with the service that I recieved from Maniflow - everything's been great.  The entire process, from the initial phone call where I described my needs and discussed the available options, the order and payment process and final receipt of the product, I couldn't be happier with them.

I find it quite remarkable that it took only 1 week to the day from the time I telephoned my order to Chris to receiving a notice in my apartment's mailbox that I had a package waiting for me at the post office.  This wasn't an off-the-shelf stock system, Maniflow fabricated a 1.75" LARGE center box twin-box center exit system; identical to the 2" system pictured here, but in 1.75" pipework and silencer box gubbins.

I didn't have my camera with me in the garage, but I can tell you it's massive.  It's heavy too, 12 kg; far more robust than the RC40 system it'll replace.  It looks like it'll pretty much fill the entire rear subframe cavity longitudinally, and is probably a foot or so wide.  I'll likely take it to my buddy's garage for installation - he's got a lift which is a heck of a lot easier to work under than lying on the garage floor.

I bought this system in an effort to bring noise levels down to a level which Hyacinth will find acceptably befitting a mature woman of her social position.   It would be nice to (drag) her along once in a while to a club event or even a just a simple weekend away where we take the mini.  Considering her age and all, I still like her enough to keep her around.

I haven't told her I bought it, though.  I wonder how that'll go...

Edit:  The invoice shows part number CLST001A if anyone wants one, and if you're using the Freeflow exhaust manifold as I am, you'll need an L71 Freeflow Adapter Pipe.  Clamp it together with 3 pcs. BCL03 (1 7/8") non-blow band clamps.
