In the Owners manual, it gives instructions on how to reprogram the key fob. My mini had an after market windscreen put in, the mirror was not properly glued back, which has the radio receiver to the door locks. At least that's what the dealership told me. Try reprogramming first or look at the mirror mount from the front of the car. If there are air bubbles in the glue, this maybe the cause for the fob not working.

If the car has less than 36K miles, it will still be under the "bumper-to-bumper" factory warranty and that should include issues with the key fob.

Hey all!
So just about a month ago, after much saving, I bought my mini cooper dream car. Got it at a great deal due to one problem: the Keyfab does not lock or unlock the car. It's a 2012 Mini Cooper S, coupe with the "Clam" style key. Ignition works perfectly, and everything is perfect with the exception of a keyfab. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to reset, program or test the keyfab... if nothing else it would be nice to know what needs work so I know what Im asking for before I roll into a dealership looking for help.
