A quick reference point is the remote shift mounting.

1100s used a sandwich plate with horizontal mounting bolts whicle Minis had no plate and vertical (in front elevation) bolts..

I know what you mean Dan.....seems to be a mini 1128 box and mini gears...not sure if 3.44 or 3.67.

It's the engine that came OUT...so I'll have time to look into it

I guess the only way to tell is measure the stroke.

You might want to cehck the final drive ratio too. back in the day, my buddy Doug did an 1100 swap but didn't change the FD - lots of grunt but ran out of gears quickly, if you know what I mean. He also didn't swap the front end engine mount appropriately, which meant he couldn't get his fan belt out without undoing the engine mount and boosting he engine up a bit. When I did mine, we didn't make the same mistakes. And, yes the rad was tight near the front of the bonnet.

I'm wondering if this engine I pulled out of my Traveller is an Austin 1100 unit.
(no tag on the back)
The rad and rad shroud are larger than a mini one I held up to it, it was also a VERY tight fit at the front corner when it was in the car.
The tappet breather pipe is slightly different than any mini one I've see also,
