That appears to be piece number JKA10012 which has a somewhat oblong end that fits the right side inner fender.  I think this one came along in the early 90's as a replacement for CZH1300 which was round on both ends.  I'll need to find a round one.

Got it.  I guess I need to find a used connecting piece.  Based on your info I made a product search and it appears the old round one was replaced in the 90's by a somewhat sqaure one.  My inner fender hole is round.

The piece looks a bit expensive on the UK Ebay when you add in shipping costs.

It doesn't "exit" into the engine bay.....that's where it "enters"

My understanding, was the foam was in the tubes to collect mist + water in the tube vs letting it blow or pass all the way up into the cabin.

The larger tube - on the clutch side should have a LARGE plastic scoop- from the grille to the inner fender to the tube to direct fresh air into the Cabin. That cabin air supplies freish air to the Heater box- and to the air duct in the dash.

Quite nice additional flow of air in the right temps - In HOT Weather like now -- Consider it a Hairdyer on HI !

Insulation and i believe a sound deadner especially on the radiator side.
