Likely rust sandwiches in the rear corners of the boot floor where they were reinforced for the Canadian crash bumpers...photos of floors, scuttles (underneath), sills, apron etc. will obviously help.  I paid $700 for a Mini I could barely drive home in 1991, then two years of restoration/rebuild totally $9,600 in expenditures (Zero Value for all our labour).

Yeah i know pics would help. not an option yet. just curious. I figure around $500. it's not likely running, as when I looked at it in the late 90's it was sitting rather neglected looking.  I don't recall a sunroof, but I don't casre as I will put my webasto roof in it if I get it.  As I recall when I initially looked I figured market value would have been between $750 and $1000 as it was complete, and I THINK the subs looked okay.  I see the sold sign is up on his house today, so I expect I'll be seeing him soon. i know there is an emotional attachment to deal with, but..

Pictures man....we need pictures.

It really depends on how much rust needs to be removed. Interior.
So it's a mkIII then ( 75 ).  A sunroof was a common mod back then...hopefully it doesn't have one.  It devalues it IMO

Typically it will need front floors and probably sills.  There may be some rot on the trunk floor ( typically ).

I'd guess anywhere from $500 - $2000 if it can still run/drive

So... almost 20 years ago I spotted a little Canadian spec Mini in a near by town. It was a little rusty, about a '75 I figured at the time, and hadn't been on the road in a while. I left a note and heard back a while later they did not want to sell.  About 10 years ago they moved into my neighbourhood.. again they did not want to sell.  I met the owner at his business a year or so ago.. mentioned if he wanted help in getting the Mini runnig again I lived near by and woul be happy to help, or perhaps buy it off him as it was still just sitting.

yesterday he see's me at Canadian tire, mentions he just sold his house and may be selling the car.  I hoonestly have not looked at this car in about 10 years, it was rusty but do-able then, and has been sitting pon concrete (no dealdy long grass or weeds!) since the first time I saw it with tires inflated.  Assuming it is solid enough for a rebuild, is there still a market for an old Canadian Mini? with all those "rust free" japospec cars we got over the last 15 years or so, is there any interest?

I still have the Cooper S to finish in the garage, but i would like a little car I can do mad mods to (sunroof, flip front, a complete set of Cooper brakes... etc...) Stuff I would never do to a genuine S.

Can you either talk me out of this or advize me? I know without seeing the beastie, it's hard to know, but I'll wager a major tune up and full brakes will be the first thing needing done (apart from probable floors and sills)
