You were getting a rebuilt HIF 38 $150 carb for the price of shipping $30, so what if it did not work you could have forwarded it on or made it work. Are you not the one always spouting your mouth off about working outside the box and adapting other parts ?

You may want to make sure that coil is compatible with points if you are installing it before you get the dizzy.

People need to understand, if you backtrack all the advices i got from ya'll, several were contradicting, i pointed out that my intake manifold is the kind where it is attached to the exhaust manifold, alex said it will work, but then he posted a different type of manifold, i think he didn't get my point...THEN,someone said it won't work, because he had the same carb and he needed to buy a separate intake manifold and a separate exhaust manifold and a spacer because something is hitting the intake manifold blah3 and also he needed to bang the firewall in order for the almighty HIF38 carb to fit,,, then Dan said yes it will fit any 3/8 bore intake and that the stud is compatible,malsal didn't say anything this time, jeg refused to say anything too (playing safe).... i'm like, cum on' guys, which is which, you got me all confused if 38 will work or NOT!!!  SOMEONE,somehow surely made the picture unclear and made me more confused, until jeg came back from a week vacation inside his home(??) and intentionally and immediately called the deal off and instead send the carb to the nice fellow from california.,i still  suspect someone who told me it won't work on my car apparently whom the carb went. hmm who knows..ooops! aaanyway!  

I just rebuilt my good ol' HS4 and it's purfectly working now. no more dieseling,less gas delivery means less gas consumption, im ok with that...my now red mini is superrrrr quiet. i just need to get an electronic dizzy and racing wires and of course a flamethrower coil. then i can head to killeen tx lunch mini meet next month. (lunch not breakfast, i dunno why all mini meet happens during breakfast.. sish!!)

Posting an HIF38 to the U.S. cost only $30 and took about a 1½ weeks for the enthusiast to recieve it.  I may or may not ever see anything in my mailbox - and that's OK with me.  I have helped someone.  Pity that you missed out on it..  Hahahahahaaahaha!

Look at it this way, nippleboy, it doesn't matter to me if I send any parts to you - I've got them and don't need them.  So, really, I don't care one way or the other - I can always add them to the club's Christmas party gift exchange grab bag.  Either way, someone besides myself will be happy.

FWIW i knew a guy (cheapskate) that never replaced points just took them out and cleaned them for thousands of miles and never had an issue, your issue is probably condenser related which you could fix really easy but i am guessing you won't follow through.
