i agree Sir Dan, plug wire length doesn't really matter, i have used long Gm truck wires(made in USA) on my mini, those are solid wires, i mix match it with my original blue wires but still the mini runs ok, the one wire that i mentioned that is arc-ing is the blue plug wire which i believe is made in mainland china. but the GM truck wires that im using right now is solid. yes it's not meant for minis but it works just great / length doesnt matter at all, these plug wires are not like garden hoses that if one has small hole it gives out less water or less pressure, haaaay purist!!!! wires are wires!!

Check your local Autozone to see if they have a generic kit set. The coil end and the spark plug ends are almost all standard, so the only issue is that the diameter of the wire fit into the holes in the distributor cap. It doesn't even have to be a 4-cylinder set - 6 or 8 will do: you just save the extras for later. Minis do not require the 90 degree spark plug caps - straight boots will do.

Depending on the set, the plug boots can be slid back, the metal end terminal removed and reinstalled on the wire cut shorter. Not difficult at all. Typically the end clips have a tooth that needs to puncture into the wire core for electrical contact.

The purist may either want all the wires the same length (at the speed the spark moves, different lengths don't make a difference), or tailor them to make a nice, clean install where they don't touch anything (I'm on this side).

I believe the 240 pounds was for the parts. Shipping would be extra.

On my end I do have a budget for a brand new complete set but still looking for ways to save ofcourse. I'm doing my own math to see how much I'd need to spend on top of it Alex. Kind of worries me I'd spend close to a new set after adding new parts to go with your set, shipping and rebuilding it. But I understand more demand for few supply. Other dude needs to chill out if he got no money in the first place. Can't even figure out if his car really runs smooth or not (which he always claim) but has his spark plug wires arcing. I just don't get it.

The closest you may come up with are a set for a 75> MG Midget or Triumph Spitfire. I thought you were a MM customer ?

Here is a real long shot.

Back in the early 70s I had a bike rack that held the bikes in a horizontal position with the front wheel turned 90 degrees. It was a gutter mount style rack.

I do not remember the UK manufacturer. I only saw one other one like that. It also fit an MGB.

I would love to find one.
