Being able to stop is a good thing. Some PO put 8.4" discs on ROO in Australia, thus 12" wheels...it stops.
Now, hopefully with 1293 coming along it will go!
Brakes before power addition.
I ordered the 7.5 set with the timken bearinga and AP calipers. Should be here by next week. Socalminifan is going to help me. Then I'm talking to someone up Northern California about rebuilding a cooper S engine. Slowly I'll be upgrading the suspension system too if needed but I'm excited about the brakes upgrade.

After a long talk with some seniors today, I decided to just buy a whole complete set new to save me and everybody trouble. I'll probablybug the forum for help putting it together like an Ikea furniture. Next will be a new motor.

Dennis the stopping difference is night and day. You won't believe it. However, I regret that I didn't spend a touch more to get the 4-pot calipers.
It's not too late yet Todd. Talk to me

Just got home from Heritage Garage in Costa Mesa. Saw their green race car and it has 10x6 mambas with regular group 2 works Arches and it looks really good in my eyes.

If you're on drums at the front right now....you'll be about 1 inch further out with discs.....you're going to "need a bigger boat"
A bigger boat?
im crunching down numbers see how much I'll spend for everything. So far it's very little over $1k with new 7.5 cooper as brake set with new AP calipers and timken bearings plus new CVs, uprights etc and everything new I'd need ready to bolt on.

7" Cooper disc setup gives the same offset as flat drums do.
As said, S drive flanges stick about 1" further out.

Im worried now about the group 2 arches i just ordered from our host might not clear the 10x6 wheels I got.
The 6" Cosmics we had on the race car last year, just fit under group 2 arches, the minilights we have this year have more offset and required group 5 arches.
Which wheels did you end up getting?

New CVs and one of my sets of calipers, discs & flanges
Can you elaborate on one of your sets? Perhaps a link?

you can reuse the hubs, bearings, balljoints.
You will need cv joints, discs, drive flanges, calipers (and the other stuff like screws, pads, drive flange collar, cv nut, etc)
Thanks Mike! Exactly what I want to know.
