You've more than tripled the miles! That should bring the price down to about half the asking price

Mike,
as you know, I've owned 13 of them. I used to drive in NYC blowing down the roads over potholes and the ride was so so smooth.
loved the hydrolastic on the AA. Of course the bits were relatively new when I owned them, in the 70's.

Thanks Malcolm. If I decide not to sell it(which right now, I am leaning toward keeping it) I will probably have it in FLorida this winter. Its a beautiful example of a nice, practical, roomy, comfortable little car. And as you say, "its only original ONCE!" I took it out this morning and it reminded me of how nice it really is!

I don't know WHY i listed the car with a 998. It is DEFINITELY a 1275 single carb. Remember, this is the way the factory built it. I have changed nothing!
Alex and Big Al,
I just listed the car for sale yesterday. This morning I took the Austin to go get coffee and started having "sellers remorse"!! So, I may change my mind and keep it. It is a great little car!! I DO enjoy it. Its just THAT NICE!!

Just as I find you a factory workshop manual (the loose-leaf in a binder type) you go and put the car up for sale !

Mike,
Your advertisement indicates a 998, in lieu of a 1275. What's THAT all about?
With the angeled heater valve and spacing between the t/stat and rocker cover I'll bet the engine number starts with a 12. Were small bores ever offered with air injection?
I really like the color and four on the floor. Great car that should fine a new home in no time.
John

For Sale! I just bought this 1971 Austin America this past January with 903 original miles on it! I have had British cars since 1973, but its been a long time since I have experienced driving a NEW British car!! I wanted this Austin in my garage. Its a great ride! Comfortable, easy to drive, get lots of smiles(like a mini), and it hasn't been restored....IT IS AS NEW!!!
Original Teal blue paint...and Autumn Leaf interior and carpet. It is AS NEW! It brings smiles to people watching as well as anyone who is driving it! Its like driving a big mini!!!
Literally NOTHING has to be done to this car to drive it! I have done it for you! Its a great little car. A piece of history. I have restored cars before. I recently restored a Riley Elf to factory specs. And during that process, there were many times where I wondered "HOW WAS THIS DONE BY THE FACTORY?" This car leaves no questions because the way it is...IS THE WAY THE FACTORY BUILT IT! I changed nothing!!
See For Sale section for details!
CHEERS!
