Nice work and video!
May I also suggest one of these for space and ease. I put one in my non mini car and was very impressed by the bass you get out of it. More than enough for the average Joe looking for better sound quality. I intend to put one in my mini eventually. The bass controller knob is a nice feature as well. It usually stays on about 1/4th.

I was gonna build something like this on my mini before but I wasn't impressed with the sound quality of the bass even with a sealed box coming from the trunk. I listen to a lot of rock and I like that punching bass sound. I used thermal duct insulation from Home Depot as a deadening wrap. Way cheaper than Dynamat. i have two JL Audio amps mounted on my backseat. I plan on making an enclosure that will fit underneath the backseat on the floor but my concern is my 10" W3. The magnet is too big that it needs more room allowed. Maybe a box enclosure in the trunk but ported up through a tube entering the rear deck. That hole can be covered with a carpet so it doesn't show. I plan on building a molded rear back rest to hide the amplifiers so it will still look like it doesn't have anything from the outside. Thanks for the tips. This style might not appeal to majority of crowd here bud but I like it.

If it was a ported sub that would be correct. This is a non-ported box. :-D
no need to lash out at me please....sigh...
how many amps are you using to push the R2??
Lash out? Not my intention at all. I should have added **said in a joking tone** or something. Internet text can be annoying sometimes. I have a kinda meh Boss R1100M 1100watt amp for it. It's definetly nothing fancy. Just wanted something inexpensive since to me it was a bit of a budget build initially.

Hey Folks,
I created a video on how to create your own custom sub enclosure in the boot of your mini. However I know everyone doesn't want to sit through me gabbing forever about it.(Although its got way more info than this post) So I decided I would do a write up as well.

you need to drill a 2' hole in the back of the housing for air movement, so that bass can move...
