On the Heritage certificate they have both / and - on the chassis number. I'm assumignt hat the / means a space.
The engine number just has a 5 digit number, nothing else.
I think that I figured it out now after looking at some books. It has spaces and dashes and no slashes.

Use the format that's on the heritage mcertificate.

Fellow Minioids, As I mentioned last week, I'm restoring a 1968 Morris Cooper S. The engine plate is gone. I have a new one. Accoridng to offical sources the number for my car should be 9F/Sa/Y followed by a 5 digit engine number which I have on the British Motor Heritage Trust Certificate.
Question: Some of the early cars had a dash - between letters and numbers. Later cars had a forward slash /. Which do I want?
9F-Sa-Y-00000
or
9F/Sa/Y/00000
Also, is the "a" small or large case????
