Based on the engine bay (specially the precence of the Anti-runoff valve) and interior, I will say with certainty this a 1991 Rover Mini Cooper, front bumpers point to German Spec Car. The conversion seems to be a LAMM based on the top shape, and ebing a german market car, it adds up to be a LAMM.

Banks Garage, aka Mark Nolan, lots of fun with him back in the early nineties, his claim to be the largest classic mini exporter in the world of course infuriated Billy Bob in NC. Yes it is a Keith's convertible, good copies, ridgit etc

In fact l sold my first (of two) Big BMC mobile tech support vehicles to Mark in the UK-

Im at least the 3rd US owner. I emailed the company that sent it over, Bank Garage, and thats where i got my background info.  There is 3 Bank Garage stickers on it now.  He indicated that everything in the car (engine, electrical) was new when it was modofied in early 90s. I know the vin# is crap shoot. I thought maybe the shell was a 71.  Ill get some more pics on here with the top back also. Inside looks pretty new also. Burl wood dash.

either way i got it to drive around. Cool little car. Thanks for the help. If it stops raining ill send some more picks.

Besides the Keith's look, as Cup Cakes says using different words, it looks to me that the only thing 1971 about that car is the Chassis Number.

Careful Larry, or JustMoken will have a go at you for daring to mention the phrase reVIN...

Sorry we have to break the news to you 71, but it just ain't what you've been told it is.

Looks more like a Keiths Convertibles job to me.
Certainly not a LAMM or a Rover Cabrio.

Here we go again! Its definitely not a MkII Cooper S or a 71 for that matter. The body looks like a 90s Rover Sportpack to me which post dates the developement of the convertible by a few years. Was the  exporter Barnhill Minis?

possible. john lamm's cabrios had a full body kit  including the front and rear bumpers. seats were the brush suede type. need to see more interior and exterior pics. also had 13 revolution wheels. I saw lamm's prototype at the IMM 35 and spoke to him. All his cars were painted nightfire red with grey interior.

The Vin according to our boards guide says :

C = Austin Cooper or Austin Cooper S

second prefix = A series engine. Any standard Mini engine for the period:

2S = 2-door saloon/sedan. Caution: bureaucratic bungles often interpret this as 25 (twenty-five)

B = Mk II Austin

no unffortunately i cant see the pics attached make sure you use the guide on your left when you compose your reply

New to the world of classic minis.  was told it was a prototype build by a coachworks in Germany for mini rover in early 1990s.  evidently rover was looking to build them and put out a bid for prototypes.  According to the uk exporter its not a Lamm.  More bracing than the Lamm version.  Trying to find out the coachworks that might have modified it In Germany.
