Just to clarify, I don't own an R56, and if I did, I'm sure it would make a nice DD.

However, I would still reserve the weekends and nice evenings for the classic :-)

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

You see what I mean? A stock R56 vs a stock 1967 s would demonstrate what 40 years of developement is; just like a current stock 6cyl mustang wipes the floor with a stock cobra that is 15 years older.

c'mon Dave you know thats inevevitable but admit it which one puts the biggest smile on your face?

I have always siad the 0-50 time for my stock 850 woody was "same day and "0-60 was "maybe". Quarter mile would be "might make it". But what do you expect from 52 thundering, throbing cubic inches unleashing the power of 27 trained thoroughbreds.

We own both new and old Minis.  I have to say, the new handles pretty well for a compartively "big" car.  I have owned plenty of compact cars in the past 30+ yrs, but the Mini might just be the most agile of the modern cars I've owned.

The Classic 87 is way more fun to drive however ! (not news to anyone reading this I am sure)

That sounds about right.

I always figured a classic mini 0-60 time was measured with a calendar...

Aloha Friends!

Thought this was pretty interesting. Pretty unusual to have both Classic Mini and NEO MINI times on the same page! Enjoy!   Mini Estate
