Just a quick follow up regarding the Rhino binnacle install on my 64 Cooper. I'm very happy with the fit, all four mounting holes lined up with the factory mounts on the firewall. Speedo and brackets all dropped right into place. The binnacle is bright white which is not an issue when hidden behind a three gauge cover however it may be too much for a single speedometer. Overall I'm very happy with the product and glad I wont be taking that monster apart again anytime soon.

Rec'd mine from Rhino in just two days.(oregon to Ohio) Solid product much heavier duty than the original piece.Very nice people to deal with. I'm installing it in my 67 S and understand the holes are in a different spot? I hope to install it Saturday so I will have more insight later. So far I couldn't be happier.

That re production by rhino is made from a tool built off of a good cardboard one that came from my 60. So although not cardboard it is a copy of one.

Ah that's great.

My 61 van has the early "cardboard" one.  I'm thinking the Estates of that date got the newer plastic ones and the last of the early ones were given to the commercial vehicles.

I still have my original, but a little damaged and holes "resized" by a PO.

If I can't find one reasonabley...I may fit a three clock.

Craig...what the hell....are they growing on trees out that way?

They are made of a sort of paper/board material...not plastic at all

I have one of the early cardboard ones.  Just have to find it in my stash of parts.  Once I do, will let you know.
