Does the fast road Facet have too much pressure to push past the standard needle and seat of the HIF44.  Thanks for everyone's help!

Napa  E8012S is the one I'm currently using. It does pump all the time but with the racket a Mini makes you only here it briefly before the motor fires up. The box says made in USA.

I think Mr Gasket as a company is now just a name for selling products sourced from mainly China.  I went all over their website looking for a "contact us" or "Chat with Customer service"... to no avail.

But yes, I have used the pump on the hot-rod Moke that seemed to have a little more demand than the "German" solid state version of the SU could deliver.  I actually used the next step up 4-7 PSI Mr Gasket pump and installed a Gross-Jet needle and seat in the carb (HIF44) which uses a ball-valve design better able to cope with a bit more pressure.  I had to convert the Moke to negative ground, but the pump is working very well without adding a pressure regulator.  It makes a constant hum or whine which you can't really hear once the engine is running (not that you can hear much else in a Moke!), but I agree the Facet "cubes" make a hell of a racket!  I think that for most Minis, the smaller 2.5-4 PSI Mr gasket pump would be a good choice.  Do pay attention to the installation instructions as they want the pump installed at about the same 'level' as the fuel tank, and the Moke tank is in the side 'pontoon' so I didn't worry about the pusher vs. sucker with only about 3 feet of fuel line total!

New version stock SU electric (I think it may have electronics instead of points, but not sure.) It feeds my HIF44 on a 1275 high compression Metro engine just fine.

I did try one of the big Facet ones with a pressure regulator. That thing hammered away incessantly. On a first test drive with it and only a bit of gas in the tank, it sucked air going around a corner. Whoa! I thought I'd dropped a valve or badly bent a connecting rod.

Did you prefer it over the stock SU electric pump?  Some of the reviews I read on the Mr. Gasket one was negative and I haven't had much luck with their high flow thermostats.

Not sure if our host stocks this one that I just installed. Its a Mr Gasket rotary electric fuel pump which i installed on a stock 998 Mini. I Got it at O rileys auto parts and i believe the pressure was 2.5 to 4 lbs so no fuel regulator needed, the part number was 42S $46.99. FWIW i find the cube ones noisy.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
