I think I know this car!   He only calls me on Fridays!!

It has the most minor of surface rust... a well preserved survivor from the American Southwest...  Not too many to be found in this condition!!

If you've got time to sit on it and are in no rush, you'll get your $10K or possibly slightly more but more than likely not until spring time around tax refund season or not until the US dollar goes down more in relation to foreign markets.

You are not off base in price, in my opinion. For this particular forum's community you are. But for the worldwide market, you are not.

Again, it's just my opinion and I haven't seen the car in person.

But also this car should definitely be a car that you do not sell until you make it clear the buyer must see it in person before you accept their money. If they want to give you a deposit for you to hold it, make it a non-refundable deposit and it's a Full Price or No Sale, forfeited deposit situation. My experience is you could get a deposit to buy them time to come see it in person, but then they lowball you after you've told other potential buyers it is sold.

You should be applauded for posting the clear pictures of the less-than-attractive areas and being so forthright. Again, with the vocal minority of this community, your nits will be picked until they bleed, scab over, and bleed some more and until they whittle you down in price several thousand dollars.

Your market for this car lives far away from the frequent posters of this forum.

Best of luck in your sale.

It does have a heritage certificate to prove what it is.

Looks like you had a pretty good idea what to ask for it after all....$10 grand starting price for a car that needs a total restoration and extensive rust repair? I had no idea they'd bring that kind of money in this condition.

Yes im am aware of that. Was told that it could be correct for a mark one Cooper S. But I do know that an S should have the 120 mph speedometer.

It has a Cooper speedometer.
