It is a BMC J4. They came with Austin or Morris badges up till the Leyland takeover in 68 when it was decided to badge them as BMC.
The motor should probably be a 1644 B series (if it is a 1500 is either and earlier motor or a diesel), it is easliy swapped with an MGB 1800cc.
