My friend who is a mechanic had changed my brakes and rotors on the rear of my 2010 Mini S hardtop. He also replaced the wear indicator sensor and rotated the tires. He doesn't work on minis and I told him not to worry about the service lights, that I can reset them. I have done this in the past for oil changes and watched several you tube tutorials on the topic.
I cannot get the rear brake indication to reset. I get this "mls -1300" reading in the window and the "Brake" light won't go out. I have tried various approaches from the different tutorials I have viewed. Do you think brake wear indicator sensor needs to be unplugged and reconnected or something?
It 'could be' a defective wear sensor - you should be able to check continuity with a simple ohm meter....
It's also possible that the front wear sensor is the one triggering the light....

I don't even know what that is. But thank you for the idea. I will mention it to my mini dealer
