I did use a smaller wheel when working with the warmed up 998 but found that the larger wheel was a much better fit for 3 times the HP.

Also have a larger wheel on the Aussie Van with 1098 primarily because long trips...across North America, around Australia...the larger diameter means less driver effort.

Even with a 15" wheel and the 1380, when the power was demanded quickly torque steer was in your face.  A larger wheel helps address that issue as well.

Just an update.  The 14" won.
I purchased a wooden 14" steering wheel off ebay, it was a fake Moto Lita, but the price was so enticing I had to.  The wheel did have a flaw in the stain on the underside of the top of the wheel, but I'm hoping most people won't notice because of the location.  Other than that it looks fantastic with the black boss.  I can't wait to get all my other Christmas presents, (new dash, gauges & steering rack) in the car.
Thanks for all the feedback, I'll post pictures if anyone's interested.

Im with Air2air.  11" is the way to go. Here's my daily driver mini with a 280mm Momo steering wheel, extended by a quick release. Makes the mini really fun to drive, even more go-kart like.

I have an 11" Moto Lita on my daily driver for San Fran commutes.  I got used to it and am the only one who likes it - everyone else hates it.   Just don't sneeze at 80mph.  And yes, parrallel parking is a workout - but a badly needed one.  Call me crazy but I'm thinking of getting a quick rack as well.

jeg, why is your radio too far from the driver??  You need a passenger to operate it??   no passenger, no music??  Lol

Best you show us a photo of your schoolbus wheel then trigger - preferably with the obligatory tin of custard next to it...

...but then again, we all know that you can't/won't do that.

Good one - no passenger, no need for any music

I've got a 13" wheel on my '66, but I had a 12" on my old 998cc car.  That was a pretty tiny wheel! Then again I'm 6'6" and quite large. I need all the room I can get.

I think I'll go with the 14".  It's been a pretty even split on the voting.  Thanks to everyone that voted.

@Hunter2 - I'd love to put a 1275 on there, but I don't have 6K to spend and until I get the new steering rack in, I'm not going on any long distance trips.  Too scary at speed.

Add more power, upsize the steering wheel, which I did with 1380 grunt in the sedan.  Much, much easier/more relaxing on a long drive

350mm deep dish Sparco - allows me to have room for my knees and still reach the steering wheel.

Thanks for all the feedback.  Here's the steering wheel I have and it's 13" and it seems small.  I'm worried that the 15" would be too big.  Does anyone know where that's measured? ID, OD or centerline?

I have a 15" Motolita. When I drive long distance it is nice to drive with my arms in my lap while holding the wheel.
