still waiting - the usps label was created a few days ago but no movement since then. I'll send them a quick reminder.

So, would this Midget MC be a replacement for the GMC227?

yes, you are right - I had bought a rebuld kit to do the job and it was over $30 for a girling kit with the bronze guide. the cost of 2 kits and you can have a new MC without the rebuild problems. I will be sure to report back.

cheers

I am keen to hear how this works out. I thought about dismantling one and sending you the link piece, but they are just awful to pull apart. Also, the mini parts folks do not seem to stock this item and recently I have seen the rebuild kits costing nearly that much.

It would be good to know if this part works well.

when you transfer over the reservoir from your vertical application, check the mating faces. They often are bowed out from the seal. I file these flat and make certain the metal spacers for the fasteners are not too tall either.

Thanks Mur

I didnt realize they were the same body as the MG midget master cylinder. I have just bought one and will report back

Much Appreciated

i have rebuilt many of those MCs. They are difficult. I have seen several that were allegedly rebuilt by professionals that had missing parts.

Just started to disassemble my brake master (1969 america tandem cylinder) and found that the PO had done several interesting things - all are repairable but I need some help on one of them - the clip that joins the 2 pistons together with a spring in between has been twisted and broken as per the picture. I cannot find a new connector in any kits or separately. I cant make a new one unless someone can send me dimensions or point me to a site that has dimensions. I have several triumph tandem brake masters but dont know if that connector is the same size.

Any advice on where to find a connector or the size (length) of the connector very gratefully accepted.

cheers
