I have tried twice to do the heritage build date search but the site would not take my credit card number. It just wasn't that important to me to for the hassle it was going to be. This is close enough for me build date wise.

35742 would put it around May 1960. BMIHT, for a fee, can get you the exact build day.

The starter button is no longer in the floor, on the dash. Haven't looked closely at the dip switch. Newish radiator. Fun to finally have some kind of idea when she was built Smile

My JAN 1960 has a wiper motor dated in 59 it seems a lot of minis retain the orignal wiper motor. another place you can look geo  is the headlight dip switch top side, bottom of starter button, lucas toggels are dated too, starter and alternator, dizzy, flat top radiator has a copper tag with date maybe other styles too, its kinda fun to see what survived with the car.  I tried to restore as many correct date coded parts as I could save.

Before 71 or so the date code was month and year. That's an early Austin you have there Geoff, obviously built after the 4th month of 1960.

I am intrigued by a recent post about wiper dates. Looking at my wiper motor I think it says it was built the 5th week of 1960. Is this correct? Would that mean the Mini was built in that same period?
