After several hours of assessment,,,here's my exact and fair market value Appraisal to your Classic mini: $6,783.27

Nope...too much....I would say...at the top end ofthe valuation scale...$6,783.25....but NOT 27...that is just speculation that will cause off-shore buyers to flood the marketplace and hurt us normal people!

Uhm,let me see, i maybe able to help you, i used to work in the Assesor's Office in a small town back in Asia where i live.

Well i see in your pictures that you have an 80's classic mini, you want to sell. you didn't show pics of the floor boards but as far as i can see the condition of the body, it seems like the rusts are just surface rusts, nothing really deep., the engine is an A+(yellow), i believe it's a right hand drive, some people call it RHD,to make it sound more scientific. i also see that it has a dash board and still intact, it also has a wiper motor cover(red) which is rare.(rare in the sense that no one uses it,it's not available for sale anymore),personally i'd like to have one. ..to continue, i see that it has a white back upper fender.,not all buyers like it, especially the Purists(they don't like any form upgrades anyways, they live in the past),anyway, i also see that it has the HIF380 carb which to some they think is the best carb ever....continuing...i also see that it has the minilite wheels with slightly used tires. / it also has an interior wooden finish side door cover, very nice.,, the seats are intact, and in immaculate condition./ it also has a stainless headlight sun visor, looks nice. admittedly, the wires are kind of messed up, but it can easily be tucked on the side and make it look more organized. it has wheels arches, nice. , it has 2 fog lights, awesome.,it has an orange spark plug wires, looks cute., headliners are still intact and fairly clean.,it also has a wiper water reservoir, which is also rare to find on minis nowadays, 90% of mini nowadays don't have wiper water reservoir.,they think it's an upgrade if they remove it.(it's the only upgrade, a purist does, nothing else). the color of the car is red, which is nice(although 90% of all minis in this planet is color red, i dunno WHY?? roll eyes) with matching racing stripes, awesome.,
i suggest you, or have someone do detail cleaning on your mini, tuck the wires, reinstall the switches etc. to make it more presentable, it may add up to the total price., a little cleaning and waxing can go a long way i tellya.

i think bill is right on ,   3k to 3500 max,   needs a lot of resto,  right hand drive brings about 1000 less on average but my guess is the seller most likely thinks it is worth twice that in the 7k range.

As was stated earlier, there's no such thing as a 1980 Mini Cooper so please understand that it is just a Mini. I can understand the electrical issues based on all those switches hanging Willy Nilly out of the dash and probably grounding out. If that's how your friend handles wiring it's probably a miracle that it hasn't melted down. Also, not saying it's a reVIN, but the taillights are newer than 1980 and the VIN plate on the car is about as Wonky as it gets. All those things considered, I wouldn't touch it. If I was him I'd invest in getting a new VIN plate stamped properly before I sold it.

It is a little sad looking, and will need a lot of attention to get it into good condition.
Seats are from something else. dash needs re-veneering or just remove it, looks good when wet and from 10ft.
I think there will be a couple panels needing replacement.

And it's not a Cooper, so should not be advertised as such.

I'd guesstimate at under $4K

The three pedals would typically indicate manual Werewolf. jajajjajajajajaja. The car looks alright overall. The rust in the back is frightening because it isnt just surface rust. Get it running and someone may by it as a runabout for a few years. Restoration would be highly unlikely unless someone wanted to break even.

Hi All -  I'm helping a busy friend sell his 1980 mini cooper.   Neither of us know anything about these vehicles and I've been searching online looking for an idea of what price to put on it.

Specs:
I think it's a Saloon.   I researched the VIN # XL251N00722787 and i think this tells me it's a Saloon with the 998 engine?

There is rust, but I can't tell how extensive.  The paint is peeling.  It no longer runs due to an electrical problem. Just stopped turning over one day. Has been under a tarp for 3 years.

Shoot me any questions, or an email..  DropBox link to photos:  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kus74sugptbqa6a/AAAeQGHhFbvAf2LjHLXur3nwa?dl=0

vehicle is located in Medford, Oregon.  Interested in hearing from the experts!

thanks- Derek
