I sit corrected. Thanks Hal

Better this than to share a story with my wife and hear "That wasn't me. Must have been another girlfriend".

Nice to read Graham enjoys the car for what it is.
Jonathan, Wrong car. The one they brought to the show was a downton conversion.I remember the car because Bobby and his boy(not Graham as I recall) were looking at my wagon and I approached them. When Bobby said he brought a mini to the show he pointed to it in the parking lot.He then said it belonged to the son. It was one of the cars that were "backdated" to look like a Mk1. The car came up here in discussion some time ago.The person who owns it now sent me an email after seeing us discuss it. As of 2 or 3 years ago they still had it.

Obviously, he liked the look of my CooperRoadMini with the 13 by 5s and 175/50-13 tires!  Refreshing I'm not the only one with good taste, and fantastic brakes!  I think Graham has been working on his Mini lately, probably to help with all the pressure from his "other job".  All of us at Mini Mania wish him the best of luck this weekend!!

Indeed, can you imagine the assortment of cool fittings and hoses and trick bits that might be laying around the Rahal garage!  Graham was only 17 or 18 when I built that 1275.   Happily, it's actually not uncommon for high schoolers in our rural area to take on such projects, with guys (and girls) restoring old tractors or old hit-and-miss agricultural engines (many more than 100 years old!).  In a previous life, I helped my stepdaughter build a small block Chevy, taking her through all the machining steps as part of her 'senior project'.  We have to hope that at least a few people will actually know how to BUILD stuff in the future, rather than just flick the ipad screen around!

Also liked the concept of a union in the oil line, if that is what that is.
I am guessing there may have been access to any number of special hoses, connectors and adapters.

Does anyone have information on the seats in Graham's Mini? They have a nice retro look while offering better support than the factory units.

Nice article. Bill Rahal's Moke is for sale again.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
