nice car, as ken said check the fluid change history you'll want to service the transmission every 20k maybe longer like 40k depending on fluid condition we normally see it getting pretty black after 20k, and change the engine oil twice as often as it tells you to. and it'll last just fine.

The car I bought has 94,000 miles runs great and there does not appear to be any tranny problems or anything else.  Does the 2009 have a transmission problem like the older ones? Is there a class action suit for the 2009's?
Does anyone have any good stories about 09's with over a 100K mileage?
Hi Scotty64, no worries! As Richard1 indicated, the class action law suit was related to the early CVT automatic transmission.  Your 2009 R56 Hardtop uses the more robust Aisin automatic transmission.

Unless you have detailed service history, I would recommend that you have a shop familiar with MINIs inspect your MINI.  At 94K miles, you may want to service all the fluids in your MINI including oil, coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid.

As I understand it, all the problems were with the CVT, which is a great transmission up until you apply a lot of torque to it. These were used up through 2008 on many models, so the 2009 you bought will not be affected.

- Personally I would not be surprised of the new versions of CVT fluid eliminated the problems, but I don't have one to try.

My daughter is happy with her 2014 Mini Cooper Convertible with turbo and manual transmission. She has about 40,000 miles on it. They replaced the fuel tank vent valve a couple of months ago under warranty. But don't count on long tire life with the runflat tires.
