Also seen at MidOhio vintage races was former racer Jack Baumgartner's slightly modified golf cart.
Although it still looks stock from afar, you get a little closer and it becomes clear "this ain't Arnold Palmer's golf cart ".
Jack removed the engine/transmission lump from one of his old race cars, complete with 45 dcoe Weber, rod change box, mini pedal assembly complete with brake and clutch master cylinders.
I hear he needs to remove the floors and install lexan because of the wheel stands.

Totally bad to the bone.
Jack also built a small lawn tractor with an A series engine.
Not only can he drive but a great fabricator also.

Had great weather. He did have to change a CV after the race though. Only one mini racing this weekend.

I have a spare / extra kill switch key that Don loaned me at MMW and he left the autocross before I could return it to him.

Anyone have an address I can mail it to so that he is sure to get it? I'd hate for him to have to need it and goes to look for it in his trailer and it's not there...

Shoot me a pm if I can mail it to you and you promise to get it to him.

I plan on it.

Fly out tomorrow, Vintage at MidOhio and then ride out to MiniMeetEast.

Small vacation.

Don Racine will be racing this weekend at the 2016 Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio! The event runs from June 23-June 26.  Come on down and cheer them on if you're near the area.  Don took 1st in his class and 2nd overall last weekend in Indianapolis.  Let's hope for a repeat!
