More bummers.  Due to circumstances beyond my control, "Barb" will not be down there at all.  Oh well.

Well, there went £709 on a plane ticket I didn't use yesterday...

For all my chums I won't be seeing in Columbus, please raise a beer or cup of tea for me.

You could try your luck with your own valve/rocker cover in those races.

Everyone has an equal chance in the Hot Wheels class by selecting your own car.
NOT saying all Hot Wheels weight the same. By proper selection you could have an advantage.

Think it's going to be a  $5 buy-in. This is for a sealed in blister package.
Half goes to the winner of all heats and the other goes to charity.

You'd have stiff competition against Mike Guido and Jason Pigg in rocker cover races. Should be a blast to participate or view.

Never thought to ask, I'm thinking classic mini rocker cover only.
New MINI valve cover would be massive.  And I've never seen or heard of them being raced.
Maybe at a strictly MINI event but not combined event.

So shut off the cartoons and get working on your car, valve cover racer and be there or be square.

I was just about to say can I bring my own car.  Dad always talked about how there should be 2 pinewood derbies.  One for the munchkins and 1 for the Dad's or Mom's to be PC.  I was thinking about doing what Mercedes did in Touring Cars in the 80's (I think.)  Where at various points on the track they set up points where the ballasts would move back or forth.  My little guy is gonna love it.  This is what he thinks of all your cars...  Getting eaten...

I just heard, there will be a Hot Wheels track set up with a 50/50 raffle.

You buy a NIB (New In Box) Hot Wheel of your choice and the fastest car advances to semi-finals and then finals. 50% goes to charity and winner gets the other 50% in cash.

This has been very popular at other events.

No, you may not bring your own car.

All minis and MINIS are welcomed.

When I contacted Haynes all that's available are books for current production MINIS. So classic mini folks are out of luck.

There are categories and judging for both.

I'm looking forward to seeing both.
I've never seen a modern MINI run the autocross and am curious about how well they run.

Pretty cool to see what's being made available to customize the new cars.

The following important pre-registration notice has just been posted on the event web site by the organizers, and I have cut and pasted it here for your information:

...."Pre-registration must be postmarked by 6/7/17.
Anything postmarked after 6/7/17 cannot pre-order shirts or meals.
This means No T-Shirt order and No Banquet.

You can still Register by mail and by walk-in all the way up to the day of the Mini Meet, but cannot order a shirt or Banquet. We still need to know how many people are coming. There will be a cutoff for the picnic also. So please don't expect to register day of and still get everything as someone that Pre-Registered"....

Big Al might very well wind up having a beaver problem.  Since there is a pool, I assume he'll be swimming with them too...  Do we need to make signs for a beaver free zone...  (Bringing the ham back, you see.)

Al,
Did you have a questions about the parts or where you just making assumptions about me and my car? We all know what happens when you assume...  I was under the impression that MMEast was open to ALL minis, owners and enthusiasts.  Is that not the case

for what it's worth no i do not have cup holders but yes i do have custom floor mats.

The 7th of June (Yes this Wednesday) is the last day for the MiniMeetEast discount rate.

Rooms are going fast so unless you like speeding money that you don't have to make the call.

You're doing yourself a favor.

Amanda, these parts are obviously for a BINI,

Not sure how strong the market would be at MMEast for these

BTW, do you have the colour coordinated cup holders with matching floor mats ?

Swap meet teaser. I've got some nuggets that i was thinking i could bring to the swap meet but i don't want to haul them 2500 miles if there is no interest so i was thinking i could post them here first, ask FB folks to share the info and if anyone is interested i'll bring them. First up 1.7 ROLLER ROCKERS $180, PIERCE ALLOY HEAD, bare $800, PADDLE CLUTCH $200, ALLOY VALVE SPRING RETAINERS $100.  Let me know you need more info or if i should pack them. Please share with anyone that might be interested.
Thanks
Amanda
