x3 on the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, plan to spend a whole day to try and take it all in, like they said, WELL worth it

Oh! Go to the Yankee Airforce museum in Ypsilanti, MI, Willow Run Airport and get a ride on their B-17, B25 or DC3. Not cheap but another of those once in a lifetime things (requires an advance reservation so the plane and crew are ready for you, not cheap by any means).

I'm just outside Grand Rapids and would love to see you through. The University Motors shops isn't what it used to be but is still home to John. He is a great guy with knowledge well past what any of us could come close to. There is a 67 mini in town I could drive you by if you want to add to your stable. It's an Innocenti with a plaid roof!

Happy to buy you lunch and a beer if you want. Just let me know when you'll be around.

P.S. The Henry Ford Museum is certainly an asset to Michigan and the US.

But Kerr beat me to all of this!

I'm not a gynecologist,

that is my understanding, you have to go farther East, to Fairport, NY for Mini City, or to NYC for Joe Curto's SU shop, or VA for Motorhead

Oh, there is LBC, located in Farmington Hills, MI, but they are a mail-order business working out of Jeff Zorn's house (well, it took over his house so he and his wife Jan moved into another one and turned this one into an entirely mail order shop). I stopped by to pick up some parts once and they were kind of like, "we don't get many visitors here", though the visit was very nice. You might have seen them and their booth at various British car shows.

Hello nkerr, thanks for the offer. My car is doing great.  So, if I'm right, there is no classic Mini parts shop in IL or MI?

not mini, but MG (the Midget is a close cousin): University Motors in Grand Rapids, MI

https://universitymotorsltd.com

John Twist has created and posted many helpful videos on youtube, and offers classes in the winter for rebuilding things like SU carburetors, and so on.

What time / day are you passing by Ann Arbor? Maybe I would be home and you could stop by my shop in case you needed to make any repairs to your mini or something.

Hello,

I'm driving by Chicago and Detroit.  Any Classic Mini shops where I should stop on the way?

Thanks.
