Too bad they cut one in for the NLA screw-type sender!! Yup someone hacked that in, but it would be cool to have TWO fuel gauges.... The twin tank cars give you the unique ability to run "special" gas in one side to feed a high compression engine! I've shown people how my 66 S is set up, and it would be nice to have a gauge sometimes!

That looks like a pretty decent original R/H tank ! With the exception of the hole someone has cut in . I would have a plate cut and tig welded in place .

I'd weld that up or plate over it! it's never going to seal properly at that lower edge, hence the two gaskets probably..................

I'd like to see a pic of the tank. Along with several other projects I hope to build an autocross car in my spare time. I picked up a very nice cleaned and powder coated RH tank and have though about installing a sender in it. I'm one of the guys who like driving on the left side of car. My plan is a right tank only to help me balance corner weight. Steve (CTR)

The sender's secured by screws and had two cork gaskets. Maybe it was converted.
Tank's at the rad shop now for pick up this Saturday. I'll take pics.
Thanks all.

I'm thinking of just welding in a patch plate (the tank's been thoroughly cleaned) in the sender's opening.
Thanks for any info.

Not that it matters, but is it a sender held in with a lock ring or by screws ?
My guess would be lock ring. Seem to remember an aftermarket tank offered years ago that had a sender with it.
Just wondering.......

If it seals well, put it in and don't wire it up. I think you have a one of a kind. Bonus points.

If it has a sender and seals fine, why not use as is. No need for a working sender on that side.
Will be interesting to know if any markets had a sender on that side

Original UK ones were not equipped with one, is it an aftermarket one ?
