When SCCA allowed F Ford alloy calipers the iron ones were everywhere cheap. Having bought two very nice cars with heavy front end damage right after installing 1275 metro power but no brake upgrade I have a good idea of the value of brakes. I did not know of the cars till the body shop called asking if I was interested. Seems neither bothered to get full coverage as well. I'm currently assembling a complete front sub frame based on a new powder coated frame with all new parts other than upper control arms. Using blue S Racers, Hi Lo's, adjustable on car lowers and tie bars, all upgraded mounting for single bolt per side sub. Disc hubs, bearings, steering arms, outer CV's, axles, pots, 8.4 drive flanges, upgraded disc, calipers, SS hoses ( and the suckers are sided ) upgraded bumps and droops. I clean debur paint and bake all parts, yes even the new stuff. Almost as much labor as rebuilding used but no bad ball joint threads, spinning bearing races, bad drive flanges CVs or anything else. Having a jig for holding hubs while building ball joints and setting up bearing preload is a major help. I'm taking pics as I do this one, rare to work with such a big pile of new parts. Steve (CTR)

Well they STOP Minis equipped with them...
In recent years, NEW Cooper S brake sets with CVs/castle nuts, drive flanges, ball joints, hubs, rotors, calipers, pads, tapered roller bearings have been about $1,000-1,200.
Some $950 Aus across the pond today...but shipping kills that.
I think the best investment someone can make in a drum brake car before adding HP however manufactured.
I have bought new set with AP calipers for the '61 Woody build because it needs to stop in modern traffic (and built a 1293cc so it can go...).

I haven't looked for a set in a while either ... 38 years ago a set of 'S brakes from a breakers in the UK would go for 200 GBP and at $2.50+ to the pound back then or $500.00+ it got you a set that still needed to be rebuilt.

I've had a set of calipers and servo on here and eBay for a while with not even a sniff... I'm not really sure why...
It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

I was going to give it $750 for "close to new".
Does it include the master cylinder??
I would still say $750 but note, I have not looked for awhile.
Sorry you said rebuilt....I will go with $450 too

A starting point, perhaps.
