Thanks, Paul.  It was delivered last night.  I am going to bring it back down to Heritage Garage to have some work done soon but decided to take it up to Napa so I can enjoy it this Summer.  

Was it the parts Dept in Battersea? I was working there then...........................

My 1958 S1 came from Barclays when I bought it in Canada. Visited Barclays and had to show them my ownership papers to get into the parts dept and showroom when I was in London in 1980. Quite the place. I also was underdressed to be a RR owner but told them my VIn and plate number as all was ok.

We also worked together at another station down east. He is doing voiceover work on a whole pile of TV cartoon series these days.

Almost the same Story from  Micheal Caine He went to Jack Barclays in Berkley square to buy his first Rolls-Royce but Sarge the old door man ( He would sometimes send me round the back and I worked there!) wouldn't let him in as he wasn't dressed for the occasion! So Micheal went next door to HR Owen and bought a car, as he drove off in his new Rolls-Royce he made sure to stop in front of JB's and give Sarge two fingers!!

Former lead singer of the Statacos...Dean Hagopian...and I both worked at CFOX in the 1970's and he told me the story. It really happened.

oh man what a great story.. got to wonder if KEITH RICHARDS got the same treatment when you bought his first Bentley in 65?? 

Rok and roll legend sand long-time Canadiuan resident.. The Hawk...rockin Ronnie Hawkins had such an experience in Toronto. He went into the local RR dealers, looking like he did back in those days...and told the salemna he wanted to buy a Roll on display there. The saleman gave him the bum's rush, saying he was wasting his time as he obviously could not afford it. Hawkins went to his bank and got the full purchase price in bundles of cash, put them in a wheelbarow and pushed it thru the showroom door where he dumped the load in front of the salesman. Rumour says he demanded the firing of the salesman....he DID get the Rolls.

I do NOT do viewing/s..  bc  ps. Dr Mini has just left with my 1275 cc engine and tranny and headed to the left coast..

That kinda reminded me about the story of the guy who asked about the cost of accessories in a Rolls-Royce showroom. The salesman's response "If you have to ask, you can't afford it."

I found a good person to transport it for me.  $700 is painful but oh well.  I have been waiting for three decades to own a MOKE so I am ecstatic 

I am still looking.  I have never never dealt with such a bunch of unreliable, flaky people in my life until I tried to arrange this simple job with several "professional" automotive transporters!  

Cash waiting if somebody wants to do this for me.
