thanks for the contact information and the pointers. Ideally, I would like to have somebody do all the paperwork and have the car delivered to me. Paperwork is something I am willing to pay somebody to do for me,

thanks for the information Bill. I see that shipping would need to be from the north of Spain. It's all good to know and will keep it in mind while looking for a car. I appreciate it,

thanks to all for the reply. It seems like a major headache for a private party to take care of all the shipping paperwork. For now, I'll have to abandon the idea of importing anything from Spain,

jim.. the reason I suggested Phoenix, terry and emna pittway are great folks ( but , I just use someone else that is a old friend for export from the UK ) and is that I have NO experience of shipping out of SPAIN.. and I have two manufactures that I importing now that I am SWAMPED with business and then have three traders in the Uk that I am sending back old VW buses and OLD GM muscle cars back to the mother land.. just do NOT have time to import for private parties anymore.. ( or the patience ) Anything imported by private parties. subject to MANIFEST hold. DEPT of AG hold or the worse CBP VASIS exam.. which all cost $1000s the later is $5k alone.. all are common.. later bc

Met a Salesman from Italy last winter, while vacationing in Fort Lauderdale. He told me of an Italian Site for Classic Cars...everything from Minis, Mk1 Escorts, Cosworths, to Ferraris. I asked my Pal James at 5 Star Vehicle Deliveries how hard would it be to get a full load (10)home to Scotland. He said he had Contacts who run into Spain and Italy every week picking up cars at keen rates. That's the route I would go if trying to bring a car home, for onward shipping.
Ive shipped an engine/box to Miami with Phoenix, so I know who they are, and their capabilities. I was in the Heathrow area that day, which is why I dropped the Lump off with them. They are probably no better than a dozen other Forwarding Companies in the UK.
Incidently, I was in this line of work, FULL TIME, for 35 years, delivering Cars, Buses, Trucks(real ones)all over Europe for Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, MAN, BMW, Iveco, Fiat, VW Audi, Peugeot. So I've paid my dues and been over the Course enough times to know how I would go about it.
Easiest Import I've ever had in the USA was in Brunswick, when I did the EPA myself at Homelands Front Desk. It's convenient to use a Broker, but not really necessary. Jim

Because Phoenix are a well reputed one-stop-shop for all shipping needs, I'd guess.

Don't want to make a big deal out of it Bill....but....why would you need Phoenix involved? Debbie Greenwood at WW in Southampton does ALL the Export documentation, as well as the US Notification of Arrival.
[email protected] They need Copy of V5C before they progress it.
Think it was £30 I was charged last November. Car has to be on Dock 5 days prior to Ship departure. They DO CHECK both Vins, as I have seen Minis sitting to the side awaiting Police inspection. Jim. ??

Bill, you do not need a British Heritage Certificate to ship a Mini to USA. I used WW to ship a 1990 Mini into Brunswick last winter. Not a problem, cleared in 10 days. (Wish they were as quick as UK, where car arrives in morning and clears for collection same afternoon) Personally, I've found K-Line to be sticky fingered. Your car ALWAYS arrives missing something.
Regarding uplifting a car in Southern Spain....there are Transport Companies who specialise in this service for ex-pats returning home. Expect to pay around £800 to have them drop it on Southampton Docks for onward shipment. Jim
