Mur as long as it does not leak i would leave it alone or pull it out completely and replace it with a bolt or weld it up as it does not affect the emissions or running of the car if disconnected. The 02 sensor is easy enough to replace if you need to.

The exhaust temp probe is now a lose fit in the pipe, but does not leak. I do not consider it a concern for the emissions test. The car did have a faulty coolant temp sensor and was running rich for quite a while. That has now been corrected. I do not know if it continues to run rich, it might be fine now, or it may need a new oxygen sensor.

He's not referring to that one James, his sensor has a capilliary tube like a mechanical temperature gauge and were only installed for a few years mainly on carbed cars a 1992 spi must have been one of the last to use it.
Mininerd what do you mean by loosened is it broken or just disconnected ?

you can buy a universal O2 lambda sensor and solder the four wires to the connector. You will have to unbolt the intake manifold but don't disconnect it, just move it over to get to the O2 sensor. while off the head you can replace the rubber vacuum elbows while you at it.

92 SPI Mini built for Germany, than sold to Japan. It's a sensor is a sensor that is screwed to the exhaust in the middle-rear of the car with a long silver wire going to the front, is this the oxygen sensor?

I've a 1992 SPI. I need to change my lambda oxygen sensor. It's loosed at the exhaust level. The sensor has a long silver wire that goes to the front of the car. Which one do I need? Thanks.
