So are you enjoying the new MINI?  I really liked the 2004 S I had but never drive my new F56.

Well, I've been lobbying to make that a project for MONTHS!! Actually years by now!! Can't get the powers to recognize the value! Looks like the only way that will happen is if me and my Cooper Road Mini builds it!! I've started down that path, but there is an interested party looking at it... a school auto shop! Now that would be a great project for a bunch of kids!

Nice find on the 07 !! I thought that would still be in the $7500 range! May I interest you in some puddle lights? They won't fit the plastic truck! Maybe that's why I can't get any traction with it.... none of the Chinese plastic chrome "improvements" will fit!

  1. 2007 S, 101kmi, original owner, clean title $2,700
I simply refuse to play the high dollar mini game. I enjoy dabbling in the low dollar pools and it's served me well over the years with several minis that actually drive on the road and not trailered about.

My 401k, Roth and real estate are my investments.

But never mind that, with this Don still has his hands in my pocket - lol.

When are you going to build that plastic pickup that's for sale into a shop truck?

But, but, but.... That must have been more than $5k! And unlike the "real" one, it's guaranteed to be worth LESS every single day! My oh my, QS has gone to the dark side!!

Still, you're right.... it is "better" in nearly every way!

It's not a replacement and you're right that it's not the same thing, this is better. This is more of a checking off an item on my automotive bucket list.

I'll always look for classic Minis but just not over my set limit of $5k.

I think "satisfy" is a relative term... and temporary. It will be fun.. for a while... then the urge will kick back in. Deep in your heart you know it isn't the real thing.

I satisfied my immediate urge by picking up an 07 S this afternoon.

Sadly, $7k Minis are not in my budget.

Thanks all. Let's motor.

I really like that car and it's my year too BUT even if it's dripping in gold my budget for a Mini is never over $5k, sadly.

Guys, my secret to life is earning an honest wage at an honest job and living within my means. I wish I had unlimited funds like some of my friends. I've had great success and pride in this hobby.

This is where my money is going these days, my compound in Nigeria.

If there is a good deal to be had, my friend Quicksilver will find it!  I remember when he found a really nice running California registered Mini for $800.  Those are once in a lifetime deals but still, who gets that lucky?

There is a chance I'll end up down the road from your area in Newport someday to be near family. A great area but I have a feeling I'll be the odd man out with a Mini and Cortina. Maybe I should look into getting a Mini pickup to fit in better with the local crowd?

Last time I was up that way I stopped in at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Another great area of OR.

I first met QS many years ago ... great guy and a master skinflint. Maybe too thrifty sometimes, however that is his choice.

I'll say it again, based on what is see in the CL ad I posted that 66 Morris is an honest deal. If I was looking I'd be all over that like Yogi Bear on a picnic basket.

well, it's not impossible to get a mini for under $5000...got my mini for $3500. well worth it...the only vital part i replaced that was actually worn out were the boots(all 4 boots) and the shifter. You have to buy straight from the owner and bypass the middleman, it's a lot cheaper. alot, lot cheaper.
