Well worth the trip.  Both Mom and I got sunburn but it was fun.  Thanks to all who greeted and hung out.

Nice to see the Minis back at Mid-Ohio, but sad that they were so overmatched by class realignments. Most of all, it was great to see familiar faces at the Runoffs, both in the paddock and in the spectator areas.  Add in GREAT weather throughout and it made for a memorable weekend. Thanks to all the Mini teams that brought their cars to the track, and thanks to Zip's widow Jan, and son Matt for coming to see the GTL race and share time with a few of Zip's buddies.

Was fun being there with Ward Barbour, helping Ted Phenix and Andy Nelson, but SCCA isn't doing a very good job of establishing parity if Joe Huffaker can't finish better than eighth. Chris Kopley was best FWD Mini at I think 15th, with Ted and Andy two and three down. fun to watch the Minis race, but better to see them compete! Fortech Mini was beautiful and a great job getting it back together by Andy and Rachel. None of the Minis needed engine changes, so that's some good news. Next year for me, the Challenge at Sears Point.

Good racing, minis did not have a good day, a new BINI ended up on his side in a sand trap

Joe Huffaker was running first after 6 laps to-day then got tangled up with the 2nd. Car a lotus 7, both cars our in a big crash at turn 3 , the Lotus driver was air lifted to OSU Hospial, Joe is bruised but O K,Joe was driving his black midget

Great weather, saw the gang as well as Jan Jones and Matt on Saturday

Next year at Indy

Yes, even Joe Huffaker is but 8th in the Championship race...the others Minis well back, some lapped.  120 mph top speed needed, best Mini achieved somewhat less.  Though MK had used radar gun on Huffaker & Fortech Minis getting 119 & 118 during qualifying but not on race day.  Toybox/Fortech Mini had some early lap troubles that did not help at all.

Good race!  Too bad the Minis have to race against GT4 cars and FP, and others, now.  SCCA equalization of cars never seemed to work real well in my opinion.

Weather looks good for Saturday.  Sorry if any of you Mini's racing wanted the rain.  I already rain-xed the windows which means it won't rain.

The Run Offs are this weekend. It has been an extremely busy summer of rebuilding the Fortech racing mini, after a massive stunt. The mini is ready to do battle again. The car looks fantastic, well done guys and girl. Good luck, Charlie would be proud of you. Check out the car on the Toybox racing mini website.
